New in 1.1: Siri and Spotlight can find a thought by what it says, open the stream on it, and add to it by voice. It is off by default — turn it on in Settings › Privacy and nothing enters the index until you do.
Actions
A thought doesn't have to stay a thought.
Pick a captured thought and fire an action on it. Send it to Reminders, Mail, iMessage, Calendar, or Files. Clean up the phrasing with Apple Intelligence, right on your device. Fold it into a longer note you're building. Tag it so you can find it again. Sixteen actions, plainly named — nothing to script, nothing to configure beyond telling Einfall once where a given action should go.
External agents
Your own AI agent can work the stream too.
Einfall's Mac app can open a small local server that lets an AI agent you already use — Claude Code, or anything that speaks the same open protocol (MCP) — read your stream and fire the same actions you could fire by hand. It's off by default, and turning it on is a deliberate choice you make in Settings. Nothing about it changes what the agent can do beyond what you can already do yourself in the app; it just lets the agent do it on your behalf, in bulk, when that's faster than clicking through each thought one at a time.
This runs entirely on your Mac. There's no Einfall server anywhere, and the agent reaches your stream directly on your own machine — not through us.
Privacy
Data Not Collected.
That's not a slogan — it's Apple's own privacy label for Einfall, and it's literally true. There's no account to create, no server run by us, and nothing tracked. Your stream syncs between your own devices through your own private iCloud account, the same way Photos or Notes does. Voice capture and the on-device AI clean-up both run entirely on your device — nothing is sent anywhere to be transcribed or summarised. When you route a thought out — to Mail, to Reminders, to your own AI agent — it travels through Apple's own frameworks, or directly from your Mac to your agent. Nothing passes through infrastructure of ours, because there isn't any.

Capturing a thought is free, forever, with no limit — that's the whole point of the app, and it should never cost you anything. Reading your stream is always free. The basic text clean-up actions are always free. The first fifteen times you route a thought somewhere — Reminders, Calendar, your AI agent, anywhere — that's free too, so you can genuinely try the whole thing before deciding.
After that, unlocking unlimited routing is a single one-time purchase of $29.99. Not a subscription, not a renewal, not a "free trial that becomes a monthly charge." Pay once and it's yours on every device you own, shared with your family under Apple's Family Sharing.

FAQ
A few honest answers.
Is this a notes app?
No. A notes app expects you to organise, format, and eventually re-find what you wrote. Einfall expects none of that — it's a capture inbox with an action layer on top. If you need long-form notes, folders, or a wiki, Einfall will happily hand a thought off to the app that does that well; it isn't trying to become one.
Where do my thoughts live?
On your own devices, synced through your own private iCloud account. There's no Einfall server and no Einfall database — your stream exists only where you and Apple's iCloud put it.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no login, no Einfall account of any kind. Open the app and start capturing.
What happens after my 15 free routing fires?
Nothing you've already sent is affected. Firing another action prompts a one-time $29.99 purchase to unlock unlimited routing — capture and reading stay free either way, and declining costs you nothing; you just keep capturing.
Does Einfall work without an internet connection?
Capture, editing, tagging, and most actions work offline — they're local operations or on-device AI. Syncing between your devices and any action that hands a thought to another app (Mail, an AI agent) needs the usual connectivity that app or iCloud requires.
What does turning on Siri & Spotlight actually share?
Indexing puts the text of your thoughts into your device's own Spotlight index, so Siri and Spotlight can find them. The index lives on the device, not on any server of ours. Indexed thoughts can appear in Spotlight search results and in Siri's answers on that device, and Siri keeps its own record of those conversations under Apple's terms.
Deleting a thought removes it from the index. It's off by default and per device, so turning it on on your iPhone does nothing on your Mac.
Does Einfall support Apple Watch?
Not at launch. Einfall v1 runs on Mac, iPhone, and iPad.
Do I need to know how to code to use the "External Agents" feature?
No — using Einfall day to day needs none of that. Connecting your own AI agent is an optional, off-by-default feature for people who already use one; the setup guides walk through it step by step.
